Acclaimed environmentalist Bill McKibben’s new book, Here Comes the Sun, looks at how solar power can offer a path out of the climate crisis, as well as chance to reorder the world on saner and more humane grounds. In his 1989 book, The End of Nature —  regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change — McKibben called for a change in the way we relate to the natural world and a focus on sustainability to prevent further damage. Since then, he has authored 20 books, helped found 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign, and Third Act, which organizes people over the age of 60 for action on climate and justice.
